My Brothers, there was an old saying; "Replace Yourself Plus One." This is more important than

ever. Our numbers are dropping, not do to members dropping out, but rather do to Members deaths. A lot of our members

are getting old and the natural conclusion to life is death. If we hope for Freemasonry as well as Scottish Rite Freemasonry

to survive long into the future it will take us to replace ourselves plus one.

Personal Representatives Thoughts:

Brothers of the Royal Secret: Happy New Year! I know this is a bit late; however it is never too late to do something about it.

Remember that to try to improve our lot in life and especially in our Fraternity, is what we are charged to do. All of us ARE our

Fraternity. We are responsible for making it better and we are responsible for helping others expand their knowledge in Masonry.

We receive all of the basic truths in Masonry in our Blue Lodges, however these truths, as important as they are, and not

finished. Scottish Rite is one of the best ways to expand our knowledge of Masonry. That’s why we say "Further Light Through

Scottish Rite."

We will be having our Spring Reunion on April 16th and 23rd. Both days are Saturdays all day. This will give us an

opportunity to present the truths we learned in the Blue Lodge in a more expanded manner. The Reunion is also very important as it is

not just a time for presenting Degrees to new candidates, but a time where we reunion with other Scottish Rite Brothers, and share the

good things we have as a family of Brothers. So see if each of us can get at least one new Master Mason to become a Scottish Rite

Mason in this class. In this way we will "replace" ourselves. How do we do this? A good way to start is to ask. It might take a little

work, however, there is no down side and this will permit our Valley to grow and offer more to those who need it. Namely those whom

we support through our charities.

Fraternally

Further Light from the Master of the Kadosh "Total Involvement Everyone"

Greetings to my Brothers and Sisters and Friends of the Ocala Scottish Rite Masonic Center, we have started a New Year in the Valley of

Ocala, Scottish Rite. I hope this finds you and yours well, if not please let us know so that we can get you on the Prayer List. We are

trying to put together some interesting programs for this year. If you know of an Interesting Speaker or Program let the General

Secretary of myself know an we will try to work them in. We would be delighted to have all our Brethren come out and join us on the

first Monday of the month for our meeting at 7:30 PM and every other month we have a dinner prepared by Dannie and Terry Snellgrove

and all of their kitchen Crew. It is necessary to make reservations for the Dinners so the Kitchen Crew knows how much food to prepare.

We want no one to go away unfed. The Ladies have a short meeting and lots of good fellowship so bring your ladies with you.

There have been complaints in the past, "we cannot hear what is going on" we have addressed this problem and each of the

Officers have a mike and we are all trying to make an effort to use them so everyone will be able to hear. God Bless Brethren, I hope to

see you soon.

In closing, may our Lord God keep and bless those who are sick and housebound and shine his light upon them and their family

members. We pray for a speedy recovery.

Cordially & fraternally;

Gus Green

From the Director of Work:

My Brethren, we are trying to put together Degree Teams for the Degrees that we do not do. I have some ideas for the

Master’s of the Royal Secret. Years ago several Lodges did the degrees of Scottish Rite Masonry. For example: Friendship Lodge

No. 53 has done the 4 Degree since the 1950’s and maybe before. Gainesville Lodge No. 41 did degrees for years. Maybe if you

take the first step and speak to members of your Lodge you to could organize a Degree. Some of the Degree in Scottish Rite are

very short maybe 45 minutes to an hour and some are longer. If you feel that you can do this feel free to call me at 352-978-3670

or see me at the Temple at our next meeting.

Sincerely and cordially;

Wayne E. Parks

April 2, 2011 will mark Ocala Scottish Rite’s second Annual "Scottish Rite Day Festival". Robert F.

Ramieh and Zack K. Springer are the Co-Chairmen of this year’s Festival. Scottish Rite Day 2011 will be held

at the First Christian Church located at 1908 SE Fort King Street in Ocala, Florida. The affair is open to all

Masons, non-Masons and Ladies. The cost is $20.00 per person. The doors will open at 10:30 am.

Pamela Ramieh, President of the "Jewelry Emporium", will have Masonic and non-Masonic costume

jewelry for both men and women on display for sale to all who attended the Scottish Rite Day Festival. The

proceeds from the jewelry sales and all other profits will go to benefit the Scottish Rite Foundation of Florida,

USA, Inc. Additionally, if any attendee (male or female) has any costume jewelry that they no longer want,

please bring it and give it to Pamela. She will then clean the jewelry and repair it, as necessary, so that it may be

placed for sale at future Masonic functions.

The target goal for attendance at this first Scottish Rite Day Festival is 200 attendees. The Scottish Rite

Day Festival will be opened by Master of Ceremonies, Brother Bob Ramieh. He will welcome all in attendance

and provide everyone present with some "housekeeping" information as well as announcements and

introductions. This will conclude the "Formal Opening" of the 2011 Scottish Rite Day Festival.

Everyone will be treated to a buffet lunch with a choice of two entrees at 12:00 noon. The menu will

consist of a Garden Salad, Rotisserie Pork Loin or Sliced Top Round Roast Beef with Mashed Potatoes, Fresh

String Beans with Mushrooms, and Apple Pie. After lunch, those present will be entertained by the Barbershop

of a framed set of eight uncut, uncirculated U.S. $2.00 bills with a page that gives an explanation of the numbers

and symbols on the bills. Also a beautifully detailed Scottish Rite Pocket Watch with gold chain and leather belt
